A Small Business Brand Photography Session - Melanie Chivers Art
Melanie Chivers Art - Brand Photography for an Artist
19 July 2021
Being in front of a camera can be nerve-wracking, but working together we can achieve so much...not to mention giving you a large suite of images you can use to reach out to your ideal customers.
From our first consultation we were planning the brand photoshoot, thinking about colours, business values, the most appropriate settings and look, lighting in the places we would be photographing, poses, props, and the end uses of the photographs. Everything about the photoshoot was planned.
On my arrival, we started work straight away. The backdrop of a beautiful 270 year old house and wildflower garden in Gloucestershire created a stunning location, perfectly suited to Melanie's style and artwork.
We started photographing Melanie with her beautiful paintings indoors. Moving into the garden, the source of much inspiration and a place to work for Melanie. We created photographs of the artist at work, drinking tea, her art equipment and even the chickens!
The photoshoot took around 3 hours of hard work from both of us, but Melanie Chivers Art now has a large portfolio of on-brand images that she can use to help her reach more customers with her online presence.

Three steps to choosing your family photographer
5 May 2021
Choosing a photographer can be a daunting process. You may think that price and the quantity of images are key - you may want to think again.
Personality: You are going to be spending an hour or two with your photographer, so you should immediately gel with them. If you want relaxed photographs, find a photographer that is easy going, fun and friendly. Is there time given to see to your children’s needs? Will the photographer listen to you and work with you and what you want?
Style and Taste: What type of photographs do you want? There are a variety of styles out there. Always, always, always look at their portfolio. Does the photographer suit your style? You can look at the types of photos (studio or outdoor, posed or natural). Is the end processing of the photographer’s portfolio what you are looking for (photographs can be processed in fairly natural colours, black and white, brightly coloured, sunset coloured, or a little ‘washed out’). Do the people in the photographs look like they are relaxed and having fun?
When it comes to the end products, does the photographer provide products in a format(s) that suits you? Are there packages or do you want to pick and choose your products?
Experience: is the photographer a member of any associations - and if so, do you know what these associations mean for you? Are they local (some charge travel expenses)? Do they have good reviews? Reviews will often and should answer some of your questions.
If you are contacting a photographer, this gives you a little more information to ask of them. When you have contacted a few, you can then make a more informed decision based, not solely on price, but on what will suit you and your family to within your budget.

My Journey Into Photography
12 April 201
I’d like to give you a chance to know me so I’m going to tell you about my journey into photography.
I love a chat, a cuppa and a biscuit.
So who am I anyway?
7 April 2021
Hi, I'm Clare, owner of Clare Amanda Photography - Family Photographer.
At home, I'm very lucky to have a wonderful and supportive husband and a young daughter who is a heap of fun and has a great sense of humour. In any spare time I get, I enjoy crafting including card making, jewellery making, creating and painting props for mini-sessions and I'm about to embark on assembling a mini greenhouse! The room I do this in is usually a hive of activity with my daughter also enjoying many of my craft supplies and my mess-making capabilities:-).
I love a chat, a cuppa and a biscuit.
I've been running Clare Amanda Photography in and around Tadley for 3 years, after a 20 or so year journey through the lens. Camera Clubs, training courses and practice, practice, practice have built up my knowledge, expertise and confidence to go out there and photograph families just like yours. Now I can offer you a wealth of experience in outdoor family lifestyle photography, guiding you through your session, putting you and family at ease, but also with my own experience as a parent, I have patience to give to your children, allowing them time to get used to me and giving you the time to see to their needs. When everyone is relaxed, your children can be themselves leaving you with natural-looking photographs that you can treasure!
